[Life was good.
It'd been a month and ten days (Logan had counted) since he'd been brought back to the X-Mansion. A month and ten days since he'd left the Black Tide. And the best part? Aside from leaving that hell hole, that is? Talia was with him. Someone who knew and understood just what he'd gone through on that boat. Charles hadn't doubted him; he would've known right away if he was lying. That didn't make it any easier to believe. And that was just fine with him.
If he didn't have to think about that stupid boat again, it'd be too soon.
Settling into life at the mansion was easy enough. Getting an ID and papers for Talia was easy enough. And even better, she fit like a glove at the school. It was more than Logan could ask for.
It wasn't perfect. Nothing ever was. But it was good. And that was enough.]

[Heralds spent the entirety of their lives honing their Gifts and serving their monarch, and Talia had been no different before being pulled from Valdemar. She might have even taught at the Collegium sometime in the future, if things had gone differently then they had.
And boy had they gone differently. She'd never teach the younglings of her own world, as she'd never return to it; but she'd made a home not just in a place, but with another person... Logan.
When they'd been given a chance to start anew somewhere else, she'd said she'd go anywhere with him and anywhere brought her to his world. There had been adjustments, to be certain, but the children had taken to her immediately and she'd begun working with they with mind abilities straight off.
The Professor, Charles Xavier, was a brilliant man... he hadn't questioned their story any longer than it had taken him to briefly pass his mind over theirs. There was power there, to be certain, and Talia had no small amount of respect for the man that ran the school for 'gifted youth.'
It was as normal a morning as they'd been greeted to since arriving, but she still wasn't used to it. Sometimes there were nightmares and they were his... sometimes there were nightmares and they were hers. But in each others' company she found a peace she'd not known for a long, long while.]
Are you meeting me for lunch today, or are you skipping out on your classes altogether... again? In which case, you can come and help with mine.
[She looks at his reflection in the mirror as she pins up her hair, a faint smile curling her lips.]

Whether or not that was a good thing remained to be seen.]
The kids are doin' fine. Gotta learn to stand by themselves.
[Which means he'd ignore his teaching period. And would get a Stern Look from Scott later. But nobody cares about Scott and his Stern Looks.]
So I think I got some time to spare for you.
[He had all the time in the world for her.]

[She snorts in amusement, turning from the mirror to look at him directly as her smile broadens.]
I dread to think the trouble those children get into without their teacher there. [She walks over to him, nose wrinkling in amusement as she reaches the side of the bed.]
You're not careful and they'll fail you... [She leans over him, brushing her lips against his softly before breathing out against them.]
Mmm, tell me I have to go, or I won't...
hello naughty children, it's cockblock time
Logan, if you're going to teach here, you have to actually show up to class and teach.
ur fired
[ He grins and watches her cross to the bed. And when she leans in for the kiss, he eagerly returns it.]
Don't ask me that, Talia, you kn--
[He stops mid sentence when the knocking starts. One long suffering sigh later, he's pushing himself up and swinging his legs over the side of the bed.]
Knock a little louder, Boy Scout, I don't think they heard you down in the Danger Room.
I dunno, I think he's sweet. :3
[She's half on the bed, kissing him back and pulling away only to bite lightly on the side of his neck.]
Mmhmm, I do know. [And then comes the knock at the door and she turns her head to it. She doesn't have to reach out to whoever it is, because a moment later comes Scott's voice. She laughs, hand brushing his cheek as she moves to the door.]
Rain check you? [She winks over her shoulder at him, giving those hips just a little bit extra sway before opening the door. She leans on the edge of it and smiles at Scott.]
He means 'good morning'.
you cant fire me I have tenure
And good morning to you, Talia.
[He looks towards Logan. His face and tone are less genial, but it's still more polite than Scott would be if it were just the two of them.]
Logan, I need you out front. We're grouping up for the field trip. I was hoping to leave before 10.
damn thwarted again
Wait a sec. I never said I was going on this field trip.
[Yes you did, Logan. 'Okay fine' is confirmation.]
Scott - 1 :: Logan - 0
[Talia enjoyed Scott's company and found he 'rivalry' between he and Logan... well... adorable. She did well to never use that particular word about it, though, and kept her amusement shielded... mostly. She glances back at Logan as Scott addresses him and her lips quirk.]
You did. [She leaves the door open and crosses back over to him, winking.]
Rain check the rain check, huh? [She leans in.] Don't kill any of the kids... [A pause and her lips curl.] Or Scott. [She straightens, looking over at Scott as she checks her watch so she's not late for her own group.]
Where you off to?
/plays 'can't touch this' loudly and obnoxiously
The West Chester History Museum. They have a new exhibit on life in the original colonies of America.
[The only reason Talia isn't on the roster is because the chaperones will be expected to do a little educating while they're there, and they can't expect someone from a different history to teach others. Maybe next time.]
Some older students have volunteered to stay behind and be your backup if you need it. They'll check in with you before you start class.
[The majority of the school was going on the trip, including the rest of the teachers. Such is life with a faculty of 6. There's still a decent group remaining, and while Talia is perfectly capable of handling herself, they didn't want to leave her completely alone.]

I promise on the kids. No guarantees on the Boy Scout. [He's kidding of course. Mostly. When he leans in for a kiss, he glances over at Scott and scowls.]
Do you mind?
Sorry it took so long... minor catastrophe hereabouts. :\
She understood wholly why she wasn't going, even though it bothered her just a little to be left out. She knew next to nothing about their world and having to answer questions about a history she didn't know would be difficult at best, horrible at worst.]
I appreciate both the company and the offer of help... [She meant it, too.] But I'm sure we'll be just fine. [She was grateful the students seemed to like her, as it made the whole acclimation process that much easier. She'd rather enjoyed their tests of just what she was capable of, as all teenagers were known to test boundaries.
She smiles, clearly bemused, when Logan promises safety for the children but not necessarily Scott. When he leans in to kiss her, pausing to grouse at their company, she chuckles low in her throat and turns him to face her.]
I'm sure he doesn't, beloved. [She leans in and meets him, kissing him with all the warmth she feels. Sorry for the PDA, Scott, but at least she's not tickling her emotions across your head and saves that for Logan! When she pulls back, the smile still touches her lips.]
I'll see you when you get back... don't worry about me; everything will be fine.
fyi, if it's friday-tuesday evening and I don't respond, I am probs at work :T
ew work
For the moment anyway, Scott and the kids are forgotten and Talia's got his full attention. When they part, Logan manages something like a sincere smile and he nods.]
I know. But if you need me. [He tapped his temple. All she had to do was call and he'd come runnin'.]
All right, Boy Scout. Let's get goin' before the Professor takes your badges away.
o7 More than understandable!
Still, she knows that he has his duties just as she did... as she does now. She laughs softly as he taps his temple, tickling her emotions across his with a tender smile.]
I know... now get out of here.
[She steps back to clear the doorway for him, moving to gather what she'll need for class.]

We will be in public, so try to look presentable.
[He turns back around to leaning on the doorframe in the hall.]
If that's even possible.
[It wasn't exactly directed at Logan, but Scott definitely didn't say it quietly enough for it to be just to himself. Hopefully Talia doesn't take it poorly - surely they're both aware of the feral hobbit she's living with and his preferred wardrobe.]

[Logan ignores Scott. He thinks he looks just fine. They want him to go on this stupid field trip, he'll go lookin' like mountain cave man that he is. He runs a hand through his hair and smooths it down a little. Just a little. Ain't no taming the rest of that mane.]
C'mon, Scott, before you get left behind. Can't kiss up to Professor standin' in the hallway.
